Position Description
While in the Program Director position, the main responsibility is to facilitate health retreats and to guide clients through detoxification process. Main duties will include organizing morning check-ups and monitoring clients' health condition; making program adjustments, when necessary; providing client support; facilitating some group talks & giving health presentations. Additionally, you'll be preparing suggested spa services list for clients based on their individual profile and individualized health tips to take home. Additional duties may include updating/developing of informational content/procedures, when needed.
Note: Currently we run our programs on the schedule 2 weeks on/ 3-6 weeks off. Frequency of the 15-day sessions: 9 per year. Please see the dates for 2014 and 2015 here: http://www.healthretreat.ca/dates.asp
You'll need to have an additional source of income to support yourself in low season and in-between programs.
Qualifications & Experience:
This position is for those, who are passionate about helping people improve their health, have in-depth knowledge of natural health/ whole body detoxification/health conditions, outstanding group facilitation skills and experience in helping people naturally improve health using herbs, nutrition and education. We truly hope for a humble and strong leader with a mature soul (regardless of the age) and sound life values, a person who is a pleasure to work with and can commit to the position for min 1.5-2 years.
Must Haves: Skills, Education and Misc.
Outstanding leadership and group facilitation skills
R.N., L.P.N., paramedic, R.N.H.C., R. Ac., DTCM, registered herbalist, certified body worker/ fitness trainer or similar credentials
In depth knowledge of health, especially natural health and understanding of health conditions
Current professional liability insurance
Experience in guiding others through detoxification process is a huge asset. If it is missing, there should be alternative experience in working with people with health conditions (hospital, extensive private health/fitness coaching practice, facilitation of health programs etc.).
Note: The person will be working with clients suffering from diabetes, fibromyalgia and other diseases.
Must be able work evenings/ longer hours, and to be easily reachable 24/7 during the session that he/she is responsible for (in case of emergencies)
Considered an asset:
Training in the area of emotional health (E.F.T., counseling, personal growth courses, non-violent communication and crisis intervention etc.)
Can sing/ play the guitar
