Job Summary
Reporting to the CareCorp Care Leader at New Horizons, the Registered Care Aide (RCA) assists the CareCorp care team in the delivery of client centre resident care.
Responsibilities:
Following established care plans the RCA provides personal care residents.
- Bathes, grooms, dresses, assists with meals and oral hygiene and performs care duties as applicable;
- Responds to call bells/alarms;
- Observes and monitors clients' progress, symptoms and behavioural changes and reports significant observations;
- Utilizes mechanical aides such as specialty beds, wheelchairs and stretchers to transport clients and provides assistance with lifting and/or transferring of clients following established lifting/safety techniques;
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for clients and staff;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Key Relationships
- Works with the direction of the CareCorp Care Manager, or CareCorp management designate.
- Works collaboratively with other CareCorp RCA's, LPN's, Registered Nurse (RN's) and other care site team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10 and graduation from a recognized Resident Care Aide program. Current registration with the BC Care Registry is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to communicate with other care team members and management in a professionals and collaborative manner.
- Ability to follow direction in a resident care focused environment.
