Role Summary
The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to participate as part of a dynamic team that provides quality service to internal and external clients. You will display customer service centric approach inherent in day-to-day activities and will be a key contributor to the success of the office by providing excellent administrative support to all team members.
You will need to draw on your experience in claims or related fields, including insurance, law, or medical to help our team of professionals deliver industry leading service to our stakeholders.

Responsibilities
• Preparing reports for claims adjusters in an accurate and timely manner
• Photocopying, scanning, drop filing, mailing reports etc.
• Entering data and maintaining up-to-date information
• Updating claims and payments received
• Open new client claims and set up in the system
• Assist with statement typing
• Collate documents, photos, and other elements of a claims file
• Create and populate excel spreadsheets documenting aspects of large, complex losses
• Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate persons
• Process and accept courier packages, Process incoming and outgoing mail.
• Open and date stamp incoming mail/couriers/faxes
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
Competencies required to succeed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superior Excel and Microsoft skills. (Excel test required)
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
• Superior organizational skills with an ability to multi task and handle changing priorities
• Strong organizational skills

• Focus on the delivery of high quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education, knowledge and experience required:
• Post-secondary education in administration
• Previous experience working within a dynamic team
• Previous experience as an Assistant to Senior Manager or Executives
• Experience with dictation machines and software and typing dictated statements
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative support role, specifically in the insurance, medical or legal field.
• Previously demonstration ability to execute high attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and proven organizational skills
• Demonstrated initiative, behaviours and follow-up skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Demonstrated professionalism and work ethic
• Proven ability to contribute to and work well within a team environment
• Intermediate experience with Word and strong Excel skills are required
• Must have the aptitude and ability to learn as required
