Job Summary:
The Software Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering training workshops and other educational presentations supporting a wide variety of software applications used within the company. The role works hand-in-hand with the IT department in understanding the training needs for software in use, software being modified and software being created. This will involve researching materials in preparation for workshop creation, as well as the management of subject matter and course materials.
Responsibilities:
• Develop training initiatives for all of the company's core software products
• Gather and analyze information to design, develop, and deliver new training programs that are efficient and effective and have a positive impact on the organization
• Present course material to employees through a traditional classroom approach, one-on-one coaching in person and remotely using screen sharing/telecommuting technology
• Perform training needs analysis by assessing the skill level, performance, and competence of each learner
• Auditing the effectiveness of training delivered using a feedback loop with employees
• Suggest improvements to be made in training processes to senior management; develop strategies for process improvement
• Identify relevant training needs, documentation, and opportunities
• Develop web-based training and videos
• Maintain familiarity with the latest training techniques relevant to the organization's and its goals and objectives
Requirements:
• Two years post-secondary education in a relevant field of study
• Minimum two years of direct work experience as a corporate trainer
• Strong working knowledge of training methodologies
• Direct experience assessing training needs, creating training materials to fulfill those needs, and then delivering the training
• Excellent at creating high quality presentations using a variety of technologies
• Advanced written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of learning.
• Knowledge of motivational, perceptual, and emotional forces and how they affect the learning process
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, evaluate, and improve others
• Excellent listening, observing, and questioning skills
• Motivated, energetic, goal-oriented, and positive outlook
• Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and other stakeholders
