Details:
I am a 43-year-old male with quadriplegia who is looking for a care aide/home support worker to provide me with 24-hour care, 1 to 3 shifts per week, as well as on a casual/relief basis. This position is available as of March 23, 2015.
I live in a private residence in a relatively new, quiet, and safe subdivision. The atmosphere is friendly and casual and the level of care throughout the day is not demanding. Likewise, the level of care throughout the night will enable you to have a restful sleep.
Duties include all aspects of personal care (such as, dressing/undressing, transferring using a lift, hygiene and grooming, bathing, bladder and bowel care, assistance with medications), food preparation and feeding assistance, driving as needed, as well as laundry and housekeeping.
Payment per 24-hour shift is $204.00 plus 4.0% vacation pay. After the 3-month probationary period, payment per 24-hour shift will increase to $216.00. (Please note that this wage is well above the minimum required for this position: http://www.labour.gov.bc.ca/esb/facshts/live-in-home-support.htm)
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualified candidates MUST have experience and/or training, be flexible in the days of the week available to work, speak and write in clear English, and possess a valid driver’s license.
