Details:
Ehattesaht/Chinehkint First Nation is seeking a Fisheries Technician (four days per week position) to assist in a variety of fisheries related activities.
The Fisheries Technician will report to the Ehattesaht Band Manager and be based in Zeballos, British Columbia.
A detailed job description is available upon request. Salary will be negotiated with candidate based upon qualifications and experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent required; advanced fisheries technical or post-secondary training or recent fisheries experience an asset.
• Excellent mathematics, English, verbal and written communications skills
• Computer literacy and familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and internet applications
• Have an understanding of traditional and modern fisheries management systems
• Have a keen interest in integrated ecosystem management
• Must possess and maintain a valid BC driver’s license and current first aid certification
• Must possess and maintain small vessel and radio operators licenses
• Must submit to a criminal record check
