Start date is May 12 for this summer position.
The ideal candidate would have interest in or experience with:
Knowledge and understanding of acquired brain injury
Crisis intervention
Working with families, couples and individuals on issues of trauma and recovery
Ability to create a safe and supportive environment for clients
Demonstrated knowledge of case management functions and client centred relationships
Understanding of mental health and addictions issues
Ability to interpret verbal and non-verbal behaviour, to develop accurate perception and understanding of others’ feelings, needs, values and opinions;
Working in a low-income, multilingual and multiracial community
Ability to work under pressure, to work both independently and within a team, to take initiative, to anticipate potential problems/conflicts and take appropriate actions, to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines
Experience in program implementation and evaluation
Experience chairing meetings and facilitating group processes
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in using computer, Microsoft applications
Willingness to work flexible hours, including the occasional weekends
Qualifications & Experience:
Fulltime student for this - Either currently attending school or attending a fulltime program in the fall.
-valid BC driver's licence an asset
-current standard first aid an asset
-criminal records check needed
