The Bar and Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for leading and organizing staff in order to expedite service to our guests in an efficient, friendly and knowledgeable manner ensuring we anticipate our guests’ every need while maintaining a “YES I CAN” attitude.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Promotes sales of Dining Room and Bar products through an effective upsell program.
• Coordinates promotions with Managers.
• Minimizes waste and costs
• Ensures guests are served with consistent speed and efficiency
• Promotes quality by communicating OBMG standards for the Dining Room and Bar
• Ensures first class appearance of Dining Room and Bar including displays, maintenance and storage areas through training crew in effective performance of cleaning standards, and the creating of cleaning lists.
• Ensures prep levels and the quality of the Dining Room operation
• Ensures that all Dining Room and bar supplies are ordered through the Chef, delivered and stored in the appropriate place.
• Supports the STARS management philosophy
• Creates and maintains a positive attitude in support of the “Yes I Can” philosophy.
• Assists in training of hosts, servers and bussers.
• Sets-up and follows prescribed training program and conducts performance evaluations with Dining Room Manager.
• Ensures the well-being of guests and crew-generates and aura of fun and professionalism in the Dining Room and Bar.
• Ensures each crew member receives direct supervision
• Communicates reservations to the kitchen, including knowledge of any large bookings.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education and Technical Skills:
• Post-Secondary education and/or training preferred.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Squirrel
• Must have an ability to foster and maintain a guest service-oriented work environment.
Experience:
• 1–3 years in a supervisory role is an asset
