Qualifications & Experience:
Grieg Seafood BC Ltd. a dynamic and growing company in the Aquaculture industry, is seeking to hire a permanent full-time Accounting Assistant at our head office.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for all accounts payable duties, assisting with month end duties, reception relief, preparing expense reports, as well as other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monthly reports and balance verification
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Manage the scanning of invoices, ensuring input and approval, and transferring approved invoices to AX 2012 and posting
• Daily bank reconciliations
• Enter adjusting journal entries prepared by the Financial Accountant
• Calculate and book cost accruals monthly
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting / bookkeeping
• Accounting certificate or equivalent education / willingness to take necessary courses within 6 months of hire date
• Superior Microsoft Excel and computer skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
• Aquaculture experience considered an asset
• A criminal background check will be required
