Details:
Volunteer Campbell River is a non-profit organization seeking a student to join our team over the summer.
Duties will include:
Contacting our special event volunteers to create and update databases.
Follow up with volunteers and document activities.
Reception coverage - telephone, email, assist with volunteer matches
Opportunity for other work related assignments such as marketing, fundraising assistance and administration.
Note: this is a 9 week position over June, July and August
Qualifications & Experience:
Strong communication skills, a pleasant telephone manner and friendly demeanor.
Knowledge and appreciation of volunteerism and how it plays a key role in our society.
Administrative skills with a working knowledge of computer software, Office, email and Excel databases.
Ability to work with a wide and diverse group of people.
Applicants must meet Service Canada requirements to be eligible:
Between 15 - 30 years old
Must have been a full time student in the 2015-2016 academic year
Must intend to return to school full time during the next academic year
Is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program
Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent residence, or person with whom refugee protection has been conferred and is legally allowed to work in Canada.
Note: Foreign students are not eligible.
