Details:
The Ramp / Cargo attendant attends to all activities associated with the ramp, freight, baggage and operation of company ground equipment. This includes but is not limited to shipping/receiving of freight, baggage loading/unloading, marshaling of aircraft, towing of aircraft, aircraft grooming and operation of ground equipment. Transporting passengers/cargo from airport to float dock. The Ramp / Cargo attendant is responsible for ensuring that all customer interactions are treated with a high degree of customer service. In addition, those customer possessions are handled with care and concern, while ensuring a professional and safe work environment for all customers and personnel.
Qualifications & Experience:
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
• Experience in customer service, warehousing, shipping and receiving
• Must have effective customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to handle stressful situations
• Ensures that paperwork is in order and submitted on time
Requirements:
• Must have at least a valid class 5 driver’s license, preference will be given to those with a valid class 4 unrestricted license (or Class 1 or 2)
• Provide acceptable drivers abstract
• Must be effective in oral and written skills as well as basic math skills
• Works well unsupervised
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and to help passengers in and out of aircraft if required
• Is able to work shifts including weekends and can withstand a work environment that can be subject to exposure outdoors during inclement weather conditions.
Must be available on short notice and able to fill requirements of shift availability
