The Chef Manager leads kitchen staff and manages all aspects of food service within the retreat centre to consistently deliver an exceptional dining experience to our retreat guests.The ideal candidate will be dynamic, energetic, keen, and personable and self-motivated who excels in service, strives for excellence and is very food and labor cost driven. You must also possess excellent leadership, teaching and training skills, and not be afraid of getting your hands dirty. The position will be responsible for food service and staffing for on all catered events at the Ocean Resort.
Part time position with plenty of opportunity to expand. Key Responsibilities
Work in collaboration with the Resort General Manager to implement the culinary strategic plan in order to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction;
Lead and manage kitchen staff to achieve department goals, including engagement, service and safety.
Leverage creativity and knowledge of guest preferences to enhance menus, maintaining food quality in compliance with regulations, company policies and culinary standards;
Effectively manage food budget, ensuring effective inventory controls, and minimizing food waste/spoilage;
Manage and minimize labour costs through effective scheduling and labour plans;
Ensure to meet and strive to exceed operations standards, food quality, service presentation, and health and safety compliance;

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Culinary Management role;
Tourism industry experience is considered an asset;
Two (2) years community college Food Services Supervisor course or equivalent is considered an asset;
A Red Seal designation or the equivalent is required
Raw Food Certification an asset
Knowledgeable in a variety of different diets
Knowledge of applicable government regulations and requirements, including but not limited to Provincial Food Premises Act, Health & Safety legislation;
