Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator - both verbally and in the written word. We require an open minded, articulate individual that is approachable, and will build bridges within the business community, local government and all stakeholders. Significant experience managing people is required, as well as a high level of multi-tasking and time management. Level of education required; Dogwood Diploma and two years post-secondary in business and finance with a minimum of 3-years’ experience in a managerial role.
Working with a volunteer board of directors, the ED will develop and implement a membership growth and retention strategy.
Our ideal candidate possesses the following strengths:
• Awareness of Policies and Bylaws at local, provincial and federal levels;
• Marketing experience including social media and website development;
• Knowledge of Chambers of Commerce and what they do;
• Proven track record of managing a team;
• Local and regional Knowledge;
• Superior written and verbal skills;
• Strong computer skills;
• The ability to work with a volunteer board of directors.
• Strong and proven financial management.
• Experience using Sage Simply Accounting.
• Experience with filing GST/PST, Source Deductions, and processing payroll.
