We have a beautiful school facility with the entrance designed like a traditional big house that is the “heart of the school”. Our School provides grades Preschool to seven, and it is governed by a strong school philosophy of care, love and respect for each and every member of our community.

• Takes the lead on IEP development, collaboration and implementation
• Instructs and supports instruction of identified students, using various teaching methods
• Prepares relevant course objectives and outlines for courses of study following curriculum guidelines and related resources to support classroom inclusiveness, pullout and traditional methods of instruction
• Evaluate student progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress
• Participates in staff and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops
Qualifications & Experience:
• University degree in an appropriate field preferred (Special Education)
• Culture sensitivity, with preference given to teachers with experience in First Nation settings
• BC Teacher Regulation Branch Membership
• Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service
• Knowledge of Special Education Program Funding Application and Reporting Guidelines from First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC)
• Knowledge and practical experience with Read Well, Reading Mastery and DIBELS (and other assessment tools) an asset
• Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with staff, students, parents and the community
