Details:
This is a half-time Auxiliary position at Service BC in Port Hardy with variable hours in a dynamic public service environment. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the front-line contact for delivering a diverse range of clerical and administrative services and programs to citizens. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet the requirements of the position and will be evaluated on their ability to follow instructions and complete required tasks in full. Grammar and written communications will be evaluated. Applicants selected to move forward in the competition will be assessed on knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies listed on the attached job description.
The nature of an Auxiliary position requires employee to be available on an on-call basis. Depending on operational demand, the hours and days of work will vary bi-weekly, ranging from nil to full time hours. Scheduled start and end times are variable from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, dependent on operational requirements. Employees are required to work assigned scheduled shifts. Work schedules may be amended due to operational requirements. This position will offer a minimum of 918.50 hours per year.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be considered for this position, applicants must clearly demonstrate that they meet the following Job Qualifications:
- Two years clerical experience, education and/or training, performing office duties using standard computer applications to deliver services and information to the public in a high-volume environment. Two years experience is defined as full-time work or combination of part-time equivalent to 2 years.
- Six months experience, education and/or training handling financial transactions, using computerized cash and inventory control systems. Six months experience is defined as full-time work or combination of part-time equivalent to six months.
- Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing and standard computer applications and data bases. Standard computer technology and applications include MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
