NATURE OF POSITION: Permanent Part-Time: 0.6 FTE to Mar 31, 2018; 0.4 FTE effective April 1, 2018

Qualifications & Experience:
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
Minimum two years recent experience working in a family-centered, team-based early intervention therapy setting (i.e., birth to school entry). Minimum two years recent experience working in the area of pediatric mental health. Also required: Circle of Security Program Certification, Modified Interaction Guidance Certification, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, negative TB test result, First Aid and CPR. Also, must have a valid driver’s license.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Demonstrated interest and knowledge in the area of attachment, including a documented history of professional development in this area. Knowledge of typical early childhood development. Knowledge of, and commitment to, the principles of family-centred practice. Sensitivity to the real needs of families, which change over time. Ability to work effectively and positively with young children with behavioral, social, emotional, and mental health needs. Ability to administer and interpret results of assessment tools. Sound clinical judgement in providing assessment and intervention. Excellent verbal communication skills with young children and their families, team members, community partners, and the public. Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise documentation. Knowledge of available community resources and the ability to have a good working relationship with community partners. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team. Strong listening and information seeking skills that promote effective communication and lead to a co-operative approach to problem-solving in a multi-disciplinary setting. A high level of professionalism, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and a commitment to treating others with dignity and respect. Basic computer skills. Physical ability to meet the demands of the position.
